About Elite Psychiatry Founder Dr. Daniel Finch

Dr. Daniel Finch was the first doctor in New Jersey to become PMH-C certified for treating perinatal & reproductive mental health.

Dr Daniel Finch, MD, PMH-C is a graduate of The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed his psychiatric residency at Cooper University Hospital where he served as Chief Resident. He previously worked at Hackensack University Medical Center from 2012-2019 as the Director of Psychiatric Emergency Services and from 2019-2022 as Chief Medical Officer of Care Plus NJ, a non-profit community mental health organization. 

From 2022-2023 he was Medical Director of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health for The Valley Health System and has recently launched a private practice in Union County called Elite Psychiatry. While Dr Finch provides care for all adult mental health conditions, he also specializes in trauma and perinatal / reproductive psychiatry as the first physician in the state of New Jersey to be certified in this subspecialty by Postpartum Support International.

Additionally, he has been cited in the media numerous times for his expertise, was voted “Most Inspiring Faculty” by Rutgers psychiatry residents in 2017, and was a Bergen Magazine “Top Doc” in 2018.
